Your gift improves residents' lives
Calgary is no ordinary city. Yet, along with our spirit, and enviable sense of community, there is a serious lack of affordable housing and services for seniors.
We want to assure Calgary seniors they will have a safe, affordable home with the appropriate services and supports, now and in the future.
While supporting people to age successfully is complex, it is simple to understand that investing in our aging population today benefits us all. When people are properly housed, with quality nutrition, cognitive engagement and a connected community of people around them, they are healthier, happier, safer and more engaged. This helps ease the burden on our healthcare system. Silvera believes it makes good sense – financially and socially – to invest in and develop homes where older individuals can age well, living their best lives.

Consider an investment in our new Research Program. It’s designed to provide Silvera with evidence-based direction for resident programming. Ultimately, we want to improve residents’ and employees’ lives by moving this research into action.
We’re evaluating our programs to ensure they are the best they can be. We’re also partnering with numerous post-secondary institutions to investigate new and innovative ways to provide interesting opportunities for our residents.

Capital Support
-
The need for seniors’ housing and services continues to grow. Silvera is determined to ensure all older Calgarians have safe homes and needed services. We do this by advancing and then leveraging capital growth.
In 2022, we’ll open three additional communities. Each will feature rents geared to low and moderate incomes. One of these is another addition to Silvera’s Glamorgan Campus.
We are also making more efficient use of existing government-owned, Silvera-operated communities by leveraging capital.
We’re adapting swiftly to strengthen our financial position and continue to meet ever-growing demand for homes and services for older Calgarians. We are actively seeking donors and partners to support this capital growth.

When you give a legacy gift to Silvera, you provide residents – current and future ones – opportunities and a sense of home they may not otherwise have.
Planned gifts may be through a bequest, a life insurance policy or other planned giving options. A well-planned legacy gift can provide you or your estate with substantial tax savings and financial benefits.
Learn more about the program. We’d be happy to speak with you or your trusted advisors about how your legacy will ensure older Calgarians live their best lives with Silvera.
